Navigating private and public networks for agile security and data collaboration.
Deployment
Quickstart
The properties of the Partisia infrastructure follows from the applied distributed cryptography that are resilient to “single point (or multiple points) of failures”, also known as threshold security. Therefore, the choice of computation nodes matters and it needs to match the context and the governance mechanisms.
A single organization may use the Partisia infrastructure to facilitate agile security using key management. In this case, the organization controls all of the involved computation nodes but the individual computation nodes are independent of each other.
A group of organizations may use the Partisia infrastructure to facilitate a new type of data collaboration where data stays encrypted at all times. In this case the individual data providers may also prefer to run computation nodes and be a direct part in the governance.
A service provider may use the Partisia infrastructure as a neutral foundation for services where users' data are kept confidential. In this case one may prefer a neutral and independent organization to be the data controller that governs the computation nodes or use the public network - Partisia Blockchain - where the governance is an integrated part of the infrastructure.
The global digital infrastructure consists of private enterprise controlled networks and different types of open public networks, hence the real network effect comes from interoperability.
Different deployment models result in private and public networks
Deploy Partisia Platform
Private and Public Network
The different deployment models result in private and public networks. Partisia Platform is a private network deployed and operated by one or more organizations. The governance is managed by the involved organizations directly or indirectly through a data controller (a concept known from the GDPR regulation) whereas Partisia Blockchain is a public network or a WEB3 network that organically grows governed by rules built into the network.
The two types of networks are built on the same business logic and can be seamlessly integrated, such that solutions using a private network facilitating trustworthy collaboration between organizations (financial service providers, healthcare organizations, public organizations etc.) and a public network facilitating trustworthy interaction with end users (customers, citizens, patients etc.) is a standard architecture.
Both private and public networks provide the basic properties for an ideal digital infrastructure as presented above. Though the private network is simpler to scale and match requirements for enterprise collaboration, the public network is ideal for internet type of interaction with end users.
